Adventures in Rice Cereal, Make-up Shots and Friends!

This week has been very exciting.  Lily has begun her daily rice cereal meal, which at this point poses more of a comical than nutritious purpose.   She loves to suck her thumb mid-feeding so that the gooey paste transfers from her face to her hands, then to the bumbo, her feet, etc.  Hysterical!  Each day she "eats" a little bit more.  Soon we'll be cooking with Aunt Krissy's Baby Puree book, hurray!

Happy little lady and her beautiful blanket made by Ba!

Make-up Shots

Friday we had to head back to the pediatrician for Lily's 4 month shots.  Poor Lily was SO HAPPY when we got there, flashing smiles and cooing.  Then the nurse with the orange fingernails walked in and it was all over.

Not so happy

Friends!
A few hours later, Lily and I ventured to Philadelphia to see Jessi, Ryan and Stella for dinner.  Dad met us there too.  Stella (about 10 weeks old) got a little upset so Lily tried to comfort her.  What a good little friend!  : )

"Hey friend, how are you doing?"

"Don't get upset, I promise the economy will turn around eventually.  We just have to wait it out. There, there."

Stella borrowed Lily's posh sunglasses for a photo opp with Dad

Check up - but no shots???

Lily had her 4 month check-up today.  She weighed in at 14 lbs even and measured 24 3/4" long.  She is in the 65% for height and 50% for weight...whatever that means.  She is growing strong and healthy, that's all you really need to know. :)   We got the go-ahead to introduce solids into Lily's diet.  MOM IS SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!  If you know Mom, she's been coined "Poly Planner" by Dad, so she's been planning and anticipating solids for months now.  The spoons and bowls are in the dishwasher as we speak and she might have an excel spreadsheet to track the daily solid success.  Tomorrow we will take the plunge! (We want the whole family here and Dad is away at a bachelor party tonight, hopefully bringing down the house in AC.)

We were unable to get her shots because she developed a fever at daycare and the fever rose to 100.8 by the time we got to the doc.  Lily wasn't feeling any pain though (phew) and the doctor discovered that her ear infection had returned.  (boo)  We got some more anti-biotics at the pharmacy and returned home to devise a game plan into the crazy world of solids.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Lillian's Baptism

On Sunday July 18th, Lillian was baptised.  She wore an absolutely gorgeous gown, made by Grandma Louise from her old wedding dress.  Lily looked like a little angel.  The whole weekend was great!  Lillian's god mother, Adrienne came all the way from Michigan and Grandma and Grandpa Bozic came from Pittsburgh to spend the weekend with us.  All weekend Lily was showered with thoughtful gifts and lots and lots of love.  We are so blessed to have such an amazing family.

4 Months Old!

It's hard to believe that our beautiful little blessing is already 4 months old.  The time has absolutely flown by, but I think I can speak for Brian and I when I say that every moment has been nothing short of amazing and we couldn't imagine our lives without her.  In 4 months, Lily has almost doubled her birth weight (she's now 13.15oz). She is cooing up a storm and is trying so hard to laugh. Still standing a lot but her newest favorite "trick" is playing with and trying to eat her feet.

We have a very exciting weekend ahead of us.  Sunday is Lily's baptism.  Aunt Adrienne, Lily's godmother, is on her way to PA right now and Grandma & Grandpa Bozic heading out soon to stay with us for the weekend.  All of Mom's family will be heading down on Sunday for the baptism and for lunch.  I think it's safe to say that Lily will get plenty of love and attention this weekend!
