Let it SNOW!

The kids asked for it.....and boy, we sure got it!  Midway through January, we had a teeny, tiny dusting of snow and the kids threw on their jackets and hats and went sprinting through the yard, at 7:15am on a school day, to catch snow in their mouths.  Little did they know that Mother Nature had bigger plans a few weeks later.

That weekend Grammy came down to watch L&J while Mom and Dad went out to celebrate Mom's birthday and Daddy's friends birthday.  Grammy brought Lily the game Trouble, which she instantly fell in love with and we've been playing almost every night since.

Next up, a few random pictures of our "winter" playtime.  Tea parties, footballs and dressing ourselves up in Terrible Towels.

On MLK Day, Mom, L&J visited The Mitchell's at their new house.  Johnny got to meet Baby Joey.  He was interested for about .7 seconds.  Lily, however, spent time holding the baby, in between playing with Uncle Tony.  It was a fun day!

Uncle Brett came over for dinner one night during the week and read with Lily.  She did not want to have her picture taken....

And then....we were hit by Winter Storm Jonas.  It was a perfectly timed storm - Friday night to Saturday.  Over 24 inches of drifty, wet snow.  It was the best.  Our hill was the starting point for the sledders of the neighborhood.  Many laughs, screams, spills and speedy runs were a-happening!

On the snow day, some of the neighborhood boys came over to play with Lily and Johnny.  The kids had so much fun and even put on a Star Wars show for the Moms! The boys fought and Lily sang the Star Wars theme song.

Welcome, Baby Joey!

Joseph Anthony Mitchell - Born January 6, 2016
On January 6th at 9am, Lily and Johnny got a new cousin and Pia became a big sister.  We couldn't wait to meet the big guy so Mom, Lily and Uncle Brett took off after school (noonish) to meet him down in South Jersey.  He was precious and perfect in every way. Lily was thrilled she got to hold him.  She is a natural, for sure, and was even happier to see Pia and give her a big sister gift, a Minnie Mouse balloon.   It was a great way to spend an afternoon and evening! Welcome to the world, Baby Joey!

So happy to meet him!

Priceless!

So small but so loved.

Never letting him out of her sight.  :)

Pia's here!

Pia meeting her baby brother!

Happy family of 4.

Less than 7 hours old!
