Happy 3rd Birthday, Johnny!!

***Warning..a lot of pictures!!***

Memorial Day Weekend was the best!  Johnny turned three and we celebrated all weekend.  Kicking it off, Johnny crawled into bed with Mommy and Daddy on Friday morning and sang himself happy birthday. Video: Happy Birthday, Dear My Birthday.... Simply adorable.  Then it was time to get ready for his birthday party at school with his friends. But first, Johnny dressed Daddy and he was smitten that they looked alike. At school, Johnny and his friends had cupcakes and Johnny donned a crown all day.  Then, Grandma, Pap Pap and Aunt Krissy came in for the whole weekend to celebrate.  It was so much fun.  Friday night we hung out at Iron Hill, where Johnny showed off his mac n'cheese eating skills followed by Lily impressing us all with her Mancala skills versus Grandma.

Saturday was the big party and it was a hot, fun day filled with Star Wars.  The Mitchell's, Uncle Brett, Tharps, Grammy, Poppy and Great Poppy came to town along with our great friends, the Baxter's and the Wiswalls. The party was a great deal of fun with a water balloon fight, pinata pull, slip and slide, bean bag toss, light saber fight and a visit from Darth Vader himself.  Pretty much a little boy's dream come true.

The rest of the week was nice and relaxing with a workout with Aunt Krissy, french toast, air hockey and a visit to Ridley Creek State Park where we went for a walk and played in the creek for a bit.  Being back to the grind is no fun but alas, we've kicked off summer!!

May!

Hello May!  We're rocking and rolling through the month at lightning speed.  We kicked off May with a crazy, busy Sunday.  Mom sprinted through the Broad Street Run, a 40,000 person, 10 mile race early on May 1st.  Despite the terrible cold and rainy conditions, she kept her goal pace of an 8 minute mile.  Woowhoo.  After the race, Mom literally kept running back through the city up to Uncle Brett's house to get ready for Baby Joey's baptism.  The rest of the family met at the church and had a wonderful time celebrating Joey afterward at lunch. Lily loved making Joey laugh and Johnny was happy to sit by Aunt Briana and Uncle Brett and be silly.

Silly time with Uncle and Auntie!

Next up, we got a new car! We love it and the kids are thrilled they have a new car to trash.
Ta-da!
The next weekend was Mother's Day.  The weather finally cleared up and sun came out (obviously for the Moms of the world).   We planted our annuals and played outside all day.  We couldn't have asked for more.

Last weekend Daddy escaped up to Penn State with some buddies.  While he was having fun, so were we.   Our friends came over on Friday night for a movie and silly fun with snap chat.  Saturday, Lily had a birthday party and a soccer game.  It was her last game of the season and she played OUTSTANDING.  She's a natural defender but also likes to score.  She had a few great plays that resulted in our team scoring.  Mom was one proud parent and coach.  Next up, the US women's team. :)  We then escaped up to Grammy's for the night.  The kids had fun in the morning playing outside!

And finally, Lily rounded out her gymnastics session for the year last night.  Lily has improved tremendously and is really enjoying it.  The kids all got medals and paraded through the back of the gym for pictures.  It was fun!  She and her friend from school, Ellie, had a silly old time with pictures.

I think that's enough for now.  Johnny's birthday is up next.  I promise not to be a month delayed on those pictures.
