End of April through May - Covid Style

Things were going ok until a big storm hit.  The storm destroyed our neighbor's tree, which came crashing down on the power lines, ripping the line right off of the side of our house.  Then, while Mom was down assessing the damage in front of the house, a pine tree came down in the back and crashed onto the deck!  It was crazy and we were out of power for two days.  GOOD TIMES!

After our power was restored, we picked up where we left off with Lily and her cheesecake addiction.  We added fruit to this one and it was THE BEST yet!!

Lily has gotten into painting canvases with acrylic paint.  Place an order if you would like something.  :)

Johnny got an early birthday gift from Ba, Pops and Jack.  A build your own kit, complete with a tool belt that holds real tools!!!  He put the belt on himself...smarty pants better not bend over!

Johnny has learned how to ride a two wheeler during this time.  He's stuck with a hand-me-down for the moment.  The kids like going to the empty mall parking lot and speeding up and back.

Uncle Brett stopped by on his way down from Philly and transporting things from his apartment and brought some fun gifts from Grammy! The kids were so excited! Johnny was excited to talk about Pokemon with Uncle Brett.

 Goofball Johnny!

Dancing in the rain has become a fun time for the kids too.  Utter boredom!!

COVID-19 and The Quarantine

For the past seven weeks we have all been home.  It's been a roller coaster adapting to all of the changes but we are all healthy and have no reason to complain.  We miss going out to eat, sleepovers and sports but we've been having a great time playing games, watching movies, completing puzzles, playing outside, going on walks and checking items off of our house "to do" list.  The kids are doing very well with virtual school and Lily has become a cheesecake chef! Lily has made three cheesecakes in three weeks.  Plain, raspberry and strawberry.    They are also learning to expand their pallets, so this isn't all that bad! We also celebrated Daddy's birthday - birthday #2 in quarantine - and gave Daddy a haircut for his birthday (Johnny too). We also celebrated Easter, quarantine style, with ham and baked potatoes, potatoes are another food first for the kids.  They loved it!    This weekend, the kids had at-home-sleepovers - both nights - in the living room!  We're hoping this ends soon, but till then we'll keep enjoying our time together.  :)

Lily turns 10!!!

Boom!  Double digits for this girl!  Our gorgeous little princess is 10!!

As our baby girl turned 10, our new normal began.  Lily was a total trooper and completely understood about canceling her parties and other social events due to the rapidly spreading coronavirus. We made the best of it!

Winter 2020

What a whirlwind!  February and March flew by!  We had a visit from Grandma and Pap Pap, a visit from Uncle Brett, celebrated 100 days of school by dressing like a 100 year old, took a few ski trips, played a lot of indoor soccer, spent time outside, took a trip to the Longwood Gardens Orchid Show and got to see Lily in her first viola concert.
