Winter Fun!

With winter in full swing, we've been on a few adventures with the kids over the past two weeks.  First we spent a few days at an indoor water park in the Pocono Mountains.  It was awesome.  The kids had a blast in the park and in our super cool room that had bunk beds and their own TV. We spent the evening in the water park arcade and the kids loved playing games and winning tickets.  No pictures from the water park for obvious reasons. :)   But it was fantastic!

Pardon the crazy eyes/face of Mom.

GOAL!

GOAL AGAIN!

J vs. L

Simulation game!
Water park monkey...why not.
Daddy took off for a fun man-weekend so the kids helped with some Costco shopping.  The reward....a chocolate and strawberry sundae!

John took over manly duties of the house and decided to fix things Saturday morning.

Saturday afternoon we had a play date with Lily's girlfriends. They had fun!

Then we went down to the neighbors for a birthday party.  Johnny had fun with the neighborhood boys.
Showing off some cool episodes of a show on the ipad,

Boys watching Star Wars.

Future trouble makers.

Don't you read the news in your super hero costume?

On to Valentines Day.  Mom helped out with Lily's class party, organizing games, treats and crafts. The kids made bird feeders, valentines bags and rolled activity dice in honor of healthy heart month.  It was a hit!

Heart shaped bird feeders!

Valentines drop off.

Just coloring until the bus comes.

Then a package came! Gifts from Grandma and Pap Pap!

Minion glasses and heart socks.  A big hit!

Movie night!

Happy Valentines Day!
Sunday we decided to get out of the house and visit the Adventure Aquarium in New Jersey.  It was really neat!  The shark tunnel was our favorite part!  Lily also really enjoyed seeing the blue penguins!  It was a great day!

Let it SNOW!

The kids asked for it.....and boy, we sure got it!  Midway through January, we had a teeny, tiny dusting of snow and the kids threw on their jackets and hats and went sprinting through the yard, at 7:15am on a school day, to catch snow in their mouths.  Little did they know that Mother Nature had bigger plans a few weeks later.

That weekend Grammy came down to watch L&J while Mom and Dad went out to celebrate Mom's birthday and Daddy's friends birthday.  Grammy brought Lily the game Trouble, which she instantly fell in love with and we've been playing almost every night since.

Next up, a few random pictures of our "winter" playtime.  Tea parties, footballs and dressing ourselves up in Terrible Towels.

On MLK Day, Mom, L&J visited The Mitchell's at their new house.  Johnny got to meet Baby Joey.  He was interested for about .7 seconds.  Lily, however, spent time holding the baby, in between playing with Uncle Tony.  It was a fun day!

Uncle Brett came over for dinner one night during the week and read with Lily.  She did not want to have her picture taken....

And then....we were hit by Winter Storm Jonas.  It was a perfectly timed storm - Friday night to Saturday.  Over 24 inches of drifty, wet snow.  It was the best.  Our hill was the starting point for the sledders of the neighborhood.  Many laughs, screams, spills and speedy runs were a-happening!

On the snow day, some of the neighborhood boys came over to play with Lily and Johnny.  The kids had so much fun and even put on a Star Wars show for the Moms! The boys fought and Lily sang the Star Wars theme song.
