We officially have a second grader! Lily had a fantastic year of first grade and is super excited for the summer. To round out the school year, there was a fun ice cream social at school. Nothing like loading the kids up with sugar before sending them home for early dismissal. We then headed to Family Day at Johnny's school for a fun time of playing games and having a snack with his friends. Lily was excited to get back to her "old stomping grounds" and play outside. Then, to celebrate a great year, Lily chose for us to all go bowling as a family. It was super fun! Johnny's theatrics when bowling had us in stitches.
On Saturday, Johnny's friends had a birthday party at a play center so Lily tagged along and played on the rock wall.
On Sunday, we released the butterflies that we grew, watched and housed since Johnny's birthday. It was a really cool experience and we had a 100% caterpillar to butterfly transformation success rate. 9 caterpillars = 9 beautiful butterflies! The kids were sad to say goodbye but we told them we'd do it again.
After the release, we celebrated Auntie A's birthday a day early with swimming, dinner, cards and cupcakes. Wishing you a wonderful year filled with health and happiness, Auntie!
