Sports, Hybrid School, Catsitting, Family and Halloween!
We made the best of October. The kids were able to continue their sports - Lily in soccer, field hockey and softball and Johnny in soccer and in-line skating. Johnny's soccer team, coached by yours truly, had a great season, only losing two games. Johnny started in-person learning/school a week earlier than Lily, so he got to ride the bus alone for two days. He loved in person classes, his teacher, Mrs. Ford, and seeing his friends. Not a fan of masks in gym class and being told where to play during recess.
Our new neighbors asked us to catsit their 4 month old kitten while they went away one weekend. The kids jumped at the chance and loved visiting little Willow. Lily had a great softball game and we celebrated at a newly found Italian restaurant, where she has a discovered a love for cannolis!
Johnny, Dad and Mom went to see Auntie A and her band, The Seedlings, perform outdoors on a nice evening. It was so great to see her in action on such a beautiful night. Johnny had fun running around outside and pretending to be the statue a the Delaware Art Museum.
Lily continued her soccer season, working hard and rocking her corner kicks and long balls.
One empty Sunday, Grammy and GiGi came down for an outdoor visit. We sat outside and chatted all afternoon. The kids got early Halloween goodies and dove right in! It had been 9 months since we have seen Grammy and GiGi in person due to COVID.
To round out the month, we carved pumpkins and went trick or treating. Lily dressed up as Harley Quinn, the love interest of Joker from the DC Comic series and Johnny was Skull Trooper, from Fortnite. Lily carved the spider and Johnny carved the skull.
