Beach Baby

We spent this past weekend in Manasquan, NJ with Grammy Louise, Aunt Bri, Uncle Brett and Uncle Tony.  We had a great time!  On Saturday, the weather was rainy but we eventually made it out to the beach after the rain stopped. Lily was amazed by the ocean and how her feet disappeared before her eyes in the wet sand.  Her expressions were priceless.  Lily had a great time with everyone!

So happy outside on the porch with Grammy

Happy Lily, Happy 4th!

Lots of pictures from this busy week.  Wednesday was Pops birthday, happy birthday Pops!! Mom and Dad went to a wedding on Saturday so Grandma Louise got to watch Lily for the night.  Lily was an angel and got to meet Aunt Louis and her family and got see Great Grammy and Poppy too!

Back to the little lady...no teeth yet, still drooling and dealing with the teething pain but Lily is handling the pain like a champ.  Her arms, legs and neck get stronger and stronger everyday and she makes new noises and facial expressions all the time.  It's simply adorable!

Good morning! Lily really loves the mornings.  We're not sure who she got that gene from!

In between outfits - hanging out in the kitchen.

Happy Independence Day!
We had a great, relaxing and hottt holiday together.  It was 97 degrees out today, so we didn't spend much time outside.  Thank goodness for AC!!  Lily and Dad watched the Phillies vs Pirates game and Mom got to garden for a little.  We had planned to go see the fireworks but Lily went to bed early, bummer!  Maybe next year!

Showing off those strong arms!

Strike a pose, sister! Relaxin' in the play yard.

Bathtime and "Reading"

Lily is starting to enjoy bath time more, she likes to kick her legs in the water, splash and stare at the bubbles.  It's making bath time more enjoyable for Mom too -- ear piercing screeches and cries have decreased drastically.

Lily has a new found love for bright colored crinkly books.  It looks like she is actually reading! I think we are approaching the 'fun/interactive stage' everyone keeps telling us about!  SO EXCITED!
"A book, you say? What's it do?"

"Hmmm, looks fun and sounds neat!"

"Let me get a closer look here"
"Verrrry interesting!"

Housewarming Party!

This weekend we finally had a housewarming party.  So many of our friends were able to come and meet Lily and see our new (is it "new" after 10 months?) house. Lily had a blast hanging out with her new friends! Thanks for coming, everyone!

14 Weeks and Teething!

Lily's bottom teeth are breaking through! She had been pretty cranky for a few days and wasn't in her normal eating/sleeping pattern. We discovered that her teeth have started to make their way up/out. For the most part, she's been handling the discomfort fairly well; only gnawing on her hands occasionally when she doesn't have a toy nearby.  She is proving to be an early developer as most babies get their first tooth anywhere from 4-7 months.

Lily completely picks her head up when she's on her belly and looks side to side. She still doesn't enjoy "tummy time" that much, but she is getting better. She loves, loves, loves to stand (with help) and is working hard on sitting up by herself.  She coos and tries to talk all the time, it is so sweet.  She even let out a little giggle on Father's Day.  :)

We are all still getting used to our new schedule with Mom back at work.  The mornings are hectic but Dad hasn't missed his train yet! (Lily and I drop him off before we head to daycare) Lily likes to keep Mom on her toes (and out of bed) with her varied night sleeping.  She's lucky we love her so much!!

Here are a few pictures from this week.

First Day of School

Monday, June 14th was Lily's first day of daycare (school). She was very excited!! Mom on the other hand was pretty sad when we dropped her off, but Dad was able to come and support Mom.  (Thank you, Dad!!)Lily did great her first week. She made lots of friends and was a little angel for them all week.
